Personal Message
Before moving to Frisco, I lived in "mountain
country" and I am familiar with
the magnificence and treachery of the mountains. They
are... a lot like life. For example, every majestic peak
overlooks a dark valley below. Before any mountain tree
limb produces a spring bud, it must endure the harshest
of winters. The allure of great heights and the risks
of falling from them hang in the same balance. The views
can be extraordinary and inspirational, but to those
who aren’t used to the altitude, can be nauseating
and painful. Storms are unpredictable and unavoidable,
but often usher in a new season.
The trail through these mountains is often
dangerous and desolate. The weather can change in an
instant and you can be hit with a storm that you never
saw coming. What is often needed is someone who can navigate
the trail with you. Someone to point out signs for warning; “Steep
Grade Ahead!” or “Unmarked Terrain!” or “Beware
of Bears” or simply... “Scenic View-
Enjoy!”
And speaking of the view…it’s
worth every bit of hardship, cramping, or blister. There’s
nothing that compares with the satisfaction of succeeding
at something difficult, accomplishing what you set out
to do, and then looking back at how far you have come.
Ahhh- that View! |
